Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has dropped his clearest hint yet that a move to Roma is on the card this summer.
The 18-year-old is currently on international duty with the Swiss team and was the man of the match in their extra time victory over favourites France.
Xhaka has been linked with a move to Roma this summer, reportedly at the behest of new club manager Jose Mourinho who wants to bring the player to Serie A.
Asked by reporters if he already knew the language, Xhaka explained the current situation:
“If I speak Italian? Not yet … In Rome there are many good schools where you can learn the language.
I learned English, I can also learn Italian, it’s always important to know foreign languages.
Now I’m an Arsenal player, everyone knows what Roma represent. Let’s see.”
Arsenal and Roma are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for a €20m fee, despite recent interest from fellow Serie A side Juventus.
