Romano: ‘Arsenal will keep tabs on Tapsoba’

Transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano offered an update on Arsenal, including news on Granit Xhaka, Manuel Locatelli and Edmond Tapsoba. The Guardian journalist was speaking on his ‘Here We Go’ podcast which included a segment on the latest transfer news relating to the Gunners:

“The next signing will be Ben White, the agreement with Brighton is done for £50m and the contract already with the player. He will have his medical when he comes back from his holidays.

“For the future, they (Arsenal) will continue to keep tabs on Edmond Tapsoba of Bayer Leverkusen, a player they love. For now they have decided to go with Ben White.

“Roma are pushing for Granit Xhaka, Joe Mourinho is pushing, Roma are convinced they can get it done with the next bid. So, a work in progress for Xhaka to Roma, and i think it will take some days. Xhaka has an agreement and personal terms with Roma.

“Willian wants to leave Arsenal and the club are open to selling him this summer, we will see if they receive the right bid.

“Talking about Manuel Locatelli, we know it’s a particular deal because Juventus are pushing, they want Locatelli and Loctelli wants to go to Juventus. His priority is always to go to Juventus. Let me clarify again, Locatelli is not saying he doesn’t want Arsenal, he’s saying he wants to go to Juventus because they are my favourite. He’s a Juventus fan since he was a kid, but the deal is not done yet. Juventus will meet with Sassuolo again and try and find an agreement. The first bid was not accepted, not it’s up to Juve to improve their bid. Arsenal are waiting, but Arsenal will never go for a player that is not convinced. If he changes his mind, they have €40m ready, but he has to be convinced, and at the moment, his focus is on Juventus, not Arsenal.”
