Multiple reports from across English and Spanish media suggest Martin Odegaard has decided to leave Real Madrid. The 22-year-old wasn’t assigned an official squad number yesterday fueling reports that he was on the way out of the Bernabeu.
Goal, MadridistaReal, Fabrizio Romano and numerous other outlets now report that Odegaard has in fact decided to leave with Arsenal his expected destination.
MadridistaReal go so far as to suggest that the Norwegian midfielder has already said his goodbyes to teammates and is expected to complete his move to North London in the coming days.
The price-tag is expected to be around £45-50m with MadridistaReal stating : ‘At Arsenal he [Odegaard] realized that there he achieved happiness which in turn made him perform much better on the pitch. He looks prepared to have a lot of minutes and play regularly, being an important player every weekend. That is what he is looking for.’
It’s been suggested that Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta is a huge admirer of the youngster following his loan spell with the Gunners last season, with Arteta reportedly pushing for the move.
