Reports from the English press suggest Brighton have accepted a £50m bid from Arsenal for defender Ben White. The 23-year-old centre-back has been linked with a move to the Gunners for the fast weeks with the suggestion being that the two clubs just needed to settle on a transfer fee.
The Athletic report that the two sides are negotiating the final parts of the deal with Brighton holding out for £50m outright, while Arsenal have offered £45m plus assorted add-ons.
Arsenal have already agreed personal terms with White while Gunners boss Mikel Arteta has made the defender his ‘primary target to operate as a right-sided centre-back.’
The Athletic also suggest that other clubs were interested in White, but the impression has always been that he would join Arsenal, and as a result, Brighton haven’t received any other official bids.
More confirmation has come Latest Brighton football correspondent Aden-Jay Wood who tweeted earlier to confirm that Arsenal’s bid has been confirmed and a deal is expected to go through.
