OFFICIAL: Hector Bellerin joins Real Betis

Arsenal have officially confirmed that full-back Hector Bellerin has joined Real Betis on loan for the remainder of the season. A statement on the clubs official website announced the move which is not thought to include any option or obligation to buy.

Hector Bellerin has joined La Liga side Real Betis on loan for the 2021/22 season.

Since first signing for us in July 2011, Hector has made 239 first team appearances, winning the Emirates FA Cup three times and Community Shield twice. He has also represented his country at all levels from under-16s to the senior squad, and was a member of Spain’s Euro 2016 squad.

Hector spent the early stages of his youth career at the Barcelona academy, before joining us at the age of 16 and subsequently signing his first professional contract upon turning 17 in 2012.

Hector, now 26, made his first team debut in the League Cup in September 2013, before spending a loan spell in the Championship with Watford that season to gain some valuable first-team experience.

Hector soon developed into a dynamic full back and enjoyed a breakthrough season in 2013/14, capping the campaign by being named in the starting line-up for the FA Cup final victory over Aston Villa.

Everyone at Arsenal wishes Hector the best of luck with Real Betis this season.

The loan deal is subject to the completion of regulatory processes.”
