Ligue 1 side Olympique de Marseille are in pole position to sign Arsenal midfielder Mattéo Guendouzi this summer. The 22-year-old spent the last season on loan with Bundesliga side Hertha Berlin but a return to London looks unlikely as the club look to move him on during the transfer window.
French newspaper La Provence report that talks are continuing between Marseille and Arsenal at present and that a deal could be agreed as early as next week, however there remains a sticking point between the two sides.
La Provence suggest that a deal has been agreed between Marseille and Guendouzi on a four-year contract, however, Arsenal are more inclined to sell the youngster outright for a fee of €20m.
The Ligue 1 side would prefer to take the French youngster on loan for the 2021/22 season with an obligation to buy at the end of the campaign.
