Reports from across both Spanish and English media suggest Martin Ødegaard is on the verge of a return to Arsenal this summer. The 22-year-old spent half of last season on loan with the Gunners but he’s now expected to return on a permanent deal.
The Guardian report that Ødegaard is set to join Arsenal in a deal worth a reported £34m and he’ll sign a five-year contract, tying him to the club until at least 2026.
The Norwegian international has already agreed personal terms with the Gunners and is expected to finalise his move this week.
ESPN report that the fee for the transfer could be lower than originally expected with Arsenal paying around €40-45m, less than the €60m Real Madrid had originally wanted.
Should Arsenal register him before the Friday midday deadline, Ødegaard will be eligible to be in the squad for this weekends Premier League match against London rivals Chelsea.
