Serie A side Lazio have reportedly agreed personal terms with Arsenal midfielder Lucas Torreira over a summer transfer. The 25-yuear-old Uruguayan spent the last season on loan at Atletico Madrid having failed to settle in North London.
La Gazzetta dello Sport now report that the midfielder is set to leave Arsenal this summer with Italy being the most likely destination.
According to Gazzetta, Lazio are looking for a quality midfielder to reinforce a pivotal area of new coach Maurizio Sarri’s formation.
The most ‘appreciated’ player is Torreira who Lazio have reportedly already agreed personal terms with.
Despite the agreement with the player, the biancocelesti still need to formalise terms with the Gunners, however it’s reported that Arsenal are ok with allowing the player to leave on loan for the season with Lazio retaining an option to buy.
It’s suggested that Lazio will still need to sell Joaquin Correa and Gonzalo Escalante before completing any move, but Arsenal allowing Torreira to leave on loan with help facilitate the move.
