Lacazette and Aubameyang out for Brentford

Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both expected to miss Arsenal’s match against Brentford. The pair had been expected to feature in the opening game of the season, having played most of the Gunners pre-season friendlies.

The Athletic now report that the duo are set to miss out on tonight’s game will Aubameyang having been ill all week, missing the last two training sessions.

It will be a blow to Mikel Arteta’s plans, given that Eddie Nketiah is already out through injury while Gabriel Martinelli has only just returned from international duty with Brazil.

Bukayo Saka is another option to play on the wing but he’s also just resumed training following a lengthy European championship campaign with the English national side.
