Hector Bellerin asks to leave Arsenal

Reports from Italian media suggest that Arsenal full-back Hector Bellerin has asked to leave the club this summer.

The 26-year-old has missed large portions of recent seasons through a spate of injuries and is being linked with a move away from North London before the next campaign gets underway.

Sky Sport Italia and Calciomercato both report that the Spanish right-back has formally asked to leave the club in a recent visit to Gunners headquarters.

Bellerin is viewed as a replacement for the recently sold Achraf Hakimi who joined Paris Saint-Germain last week in a reported €60m deal.

Arsenal are now expected to meet with Inter to thrash out a deal with the Italian side keen on landing the player on loan with an option to buy next summer.

The Gunners, however, are pushing for the loan to be made permanent, should Bellerin make a certain number of appearances for the Nerazzurri in 2021/22.
