Crystal Palace are set to appoint former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira as their new manager after an agreement was reached in principle. The Athletic report that a deal has yet to be signed, but an agreement is expected to be reached today with an official announcement due later.
It’ll be a first managerial role for the Arsenal legend since his stints at New York City and OGC Nice and he could be ready to begin pre-season training with his new team as early as next week.
Vieira was previously linked with the managers position at Bournemouth following his departure from Nice in December.
The former Gunners captain spent the bulk of his career playing under Arsene Wenger, making 279 appearances in the Premier League, winning the title three times as well as four FA Cups during his time in North London.
