Brighton defender Ben White is expected to complete his Arsenal medical in the coming week after the two clubs agreed terms on a transfer.
The move has been touted for several weeks with The Gunners having expressed a strong interest in the ball-playing centre-back.
Arsenal saw their initial bids rejected but finally agreed terms with Brighton on a £50m transfer fee later on Friday.
The Times now report that the guaranteed transfer fee will be ‘supplemented with additional performance-related variables’, making it the second highest fee ever exchanged for an English defender.
White is expected to undergo his Arsenal medical next week after returning from a short holiday in Greece, having been part of the England squad for EURO 2020.
The 23-year-old will more than double his weekly salary, earning £120,000 a week in his first season with the Gunners.
