Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are both doubts for Arsenal’s game against Chelsea amid reports they could be transferred. The pair missed out the Gunners 2-0 defeat to Brentford on the opening day of the new season with their absence simply listed as an illness.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta offered no updates on why the duo weren’t present, saying simply “They feel unwell, that’s all I can say. It is [a big miss] but in a world we live in I think the only permanent thing now are changes instead of seeking for excuses, we’re seeking for solutions.”
Football London report that both players are now a doubt for next weekends London derby against Chelsea, Arsenal’s first home game of the season at the Emirates.
The Times suggest that Aubameyang’s time at Arsenal could be up with, reporting that the club could look to offload him this summer, just a year after tying him down to a new contract.
