Arsenal are close to completing the signings of Ben White and Albert Sambi Lokonga but are targeting at least five more players. According to The Athletic, The Gunners are pushing to complete the signings of White and Lokonga but ‘within the club, there is an acceptance that, even should those deals be completed, there remains a considerable amount of work still to do.’
The report suggests that the club may still require a left-back, right-back, No 10 and goalkeeper — as well as a more experienced central midfield player this summer.
The arrival of White it likely to result in William Saliba being sent on loan while Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves ‘remains under consideration’, given that Granit Xhaka is close to agreeing a move to Roma.
Arsenal will also look to move on two of their right-backs, with Hector Bellerin and Ainsley Maitland-Niles most likely to depart, before purchasing a new play in that position, with Sassuolo’s Mert Muldur being linked to that role.
At left-back, Arsenal are monitoring Real Madrid’s 19-year-old left-back Miguel Gutierrez who has a €40 million release clause and could leave this summer, given Marcelo and Ferland Mendy are ahead of him in the pecking order.
Arsenal are also reportedly pursuing a move for Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and there has been initial contact between the clubs for the 23-year-old.
A No.10 is also a priority for the club, with Leicester City’s James Maddison being linked but unlikely to sign, leaving the club keen to agree a long-term extension for Emile Smith Rowe who could play that role.
