Arsenal and another London club have made a player plus cash offer for Leicester City midfielder James Maddison. The Gunners have been heavily linked with Maddison in the last month as they look for an attacking midfielder to complete Mikel Arteta’s starting XI.
Football London report that Arsenal are one of two clubs who have made a bid for the 24-year-old, offering a deal that would involve a cash payment, as well as a player.
According to the report, Maddison is at the top of the transfer list for Arsenal this summer, however Leicester are asking for at least £60m.
The Guardian also report on similar lines, however according their story, Maddison is open to a move to North London this summer.
The news has apparently surprised some, given that Leicester have qualified for the Europa League next season.
Arsenal have spent £73m already this summer and the hefty price tag may yet impede any possible deal, given that Leicester aren’t forced to sell.
