Arsenal are reportedly interested in Olympique Lyonnais midfielder who could be an alternative to Sassuolo’s Manuel Locatelli.
The club are looking to sign a central midfielder with reports from Italy suggesting that they have made a £40m bid for Locatelli, whose preference is to join Juventus.
Goal report that the Gunners have now put Bruno Guimarães on their radar having tried to sign him in January 2020, with him ultimately choosing to sign for Lyon.
Guimarães was seen as one of the highlights of the Brazilian national team that took part in the Tokyo Olympic Games and has been monitored by Arsenal, who have already made enquiries about his availability with Lyon.
Despite Lyon’s desire to keep the youngster, the club need cash this summer having failed to qualify for the Champions League, seeing them miss out on close to €120m in television rights, gate receipts and participation bonuses.
Goal suggest that despite this, they would only entertain offers of €35m with Arsenal football director, Edu Gaspar having closely followed Guimarães since his days as the technical coordinator of the Brazilian national team.
