Arsenal have joined the race to sign Barcelona midfielder Miralem Pjanic who is desperate to leave the club before pre-season.
The Bosnian international joined the Blaugrana just last summer in a sensational swap deal that saw Brazilian midfielder Arthur join Juventus.
Despite the high-profile move, Pjanic has struggled for game time over the last year and Sport report that he is now eager to leave the Catalan club before pre-season begins.
His preference is to return to Juve, however the Serie A side would need to free up space for him, given they are close to signing Manuel Locatelli while also having the likes of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot on their books.
According to Sport, Arsenal have joined Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea in the running to sign Pjanic, however the proviso would be that he join the Gunners for free in order to cover his wages.
For their part, Barca are reportedly keen to offload the 31-year-old in an effort to reduce the wage bill as they look to streamline their finances.
