Arsenal linked with Juve’s Arthur

Juventus have offered Arsenal the chance to sign Brazilian midfielder Arthur but Mikel Arteta may not be convinced. The Bianconeri are reportedly looking to loan out the 25-year-old in the upcoming January transfer window with the Gunners being linked with a move.

Journalist Duncan Castles reports that Juve are waiting to hear back from Arsenal having offered Arthur on loan just two years after signing him.

The midfielder failed to break into coach Andrea Pirlo’s starting XI and has struggled to make an impression on current coach Max Allegri with Castles reporting:

“He (Allegri) actually rates Arthur as a player more than the other two but is not impressed with his behaviour off the field and is therefore prepared to cash in.

“Ideally they would sell but they’re offering Arthur on loan and they’ve offered him around the top clubs in Europe.”

Arsenal will be without midfielders Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny in January as they are expected to feature in the African Cup of Nations while Ainsley Maitland-Niles has been linked with a move to Roma.
