Arsenal ‘accept’ Philippe Coutinho

Arsenal are reportedly keen on signing Barcelona midfielder Phillipe Coutinho in the January transfer window. The Brazilian has fallen out of favour at the Camp Nou and has barely featured all season.

Barca are reportedly keen to offload the 29-year-old, given he doesn’t fit into the plans of new coach Xavi Hernandez.

Fichajes.net report that Barcelona are looking to offload fringe players to make way for ‘top-players’ capable of bringing the club back to their best.

The Spanish newspaper suggest that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has given a ‘resounding yes’ when approving the arrival of Coutinho.

Fichajes suggestthe Gunners are keen on the Brazilian as they are looking to consolidate their recent good form.

Given Coutinho’s best form was at Liverpool, the suggestion is that he can rediscover his touch in North London.

The Brazil international has made 106 appearances for the Blaugrana, scoring 26 goals over four seasons.
