Arsenal are close to announcing the signing of Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale in a deal worth a reported £24m. Sky Sports, The Guardian and numerous others have reported that a deal is close to being announced after the two clubs agreed terms.
The deal is reportedly worth £24m with up to £6m in reported add-on’s, however these will be dependent on how many appearances the 23-year-old makes.
Sheffield United boss Slavisa Jokanovic all but confirmed the move last night, speaking about the upcoming transfer following the Blades 4-0 defeat against West Brom:
“It’s not really what I want but it’s difficult to stop this kind of situation. It’s a huge deal for the club and we have been relegated from the Premier League, so it’s complicated to say no.”
Reports from Sky Sports and the BBC confirm that Ramsdale is expected to undertake his medical today with a view to having the keeper in the Arsenal squad for this weekends London derby against Chelsea.
